A local woman who sells her marmalade at the weekly Warminster Country Market has won four global awards for her creations.
Jenny Baxter won three gold awards for her West Country Cider, Lemon and Lime Gin and Tonic, and Bloody Old Lady marmalades, and a silver award for her Pink Lady marmalade, at the 2026 Dalemain World Marmalade Awards. These flavours will now carry official Marmalade Awards roundels to denote a marmalade of exceptional quality.
“I am thrilled to have won these awards against such strong competition from all over the world,” said Jenny. “I have been making marmalade for Warminster Country Market for years and am always happy to try out new combinations of flavours or return to the traditional classic flavours we all know and love. It is a great thrill to have my marmalades recognised among such a strong field.”
The Marmalade Awards received over 3,400 entries this year from more than 33 countries worldwide. The jars were judged by an expert panel including Chair of Tourism Ireland Chris Brooke, food buyer for Tebay, Gloucester and Cairn Lodge Services Alex Evans, food historian Ivan Day, owner of the Ave Maria Organic Orange Grove in Seville Jose Fraga, and Fortnum and Mason grocery buyer Syrie Gwyn Palmer.
Beatrice Hasell-McCosh, Director of the Awards, said, “It is an exciting moment coming to judge the artisan marmalades every year, which are often packed full of innovation and individuality. Every jar is judged completely blind by our panel, with many jars being passed around the tables to be judged as a group. All the award winners this year make it look very easy to achieve something which we as judges know is very hard to do.
“I know that Jenny Baxter at Warminster Country Market will have huge success with her marmalade, which was rightly acknowledged as being exceptional in 2026.”
Jenny’s marmalade can be purchased at Warminster Country Market, held in Warminster Library every Friday morning from 9.30am until 11.30am.
