A third pharmacy has opened in a temporary facility in Warminster.
The facility opened on Broxburn Road on Tuesday 7th April, following calls for a third pharmacy in the town to meet demand from several new housing developments.
The temporary structure precedes plans to build a permanent pharmacy alongside the existing site. Co-owner Nikhil Koria, who owns several pharmacies locally, described the ‘tortuous process’ of setting up the unit but said he felt that it would enhance pharmaceutical access, particularly for those in the west of the town.
David Reeves from Health and Wellbeing Warminster, which has campaigned for a third pharmacy in the town, described this as a “positive contribution to the wider community.”
He said, “It has been a long two and a half years since the closure of the Boots Avenue pharmacy, but this is the first step towards restoring independent pharmaceutical capability in the town.”
The pharmacy will be open from 9am until 6pm from Monday to Friday, and from 10am until 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Nikhil added that opening on a Sunday “would provide a facility not currently offered in the town.”
