Funding of £24,000 has been agreed by Warminster Town Council to continue detached youth work in the town for another year.
The money will support another year of provision delivered through an agreement with Warminster and Westbury Youth Club as part of ongoing youth services in Warminster.
Youth outreach workers join young people for two hours an evening for four evenings a week all year round, working with schools, Wiltshire Police, local shops and other agencies.
The team help develop resilience to youth offending and anti-social behaviour, as well as providing the young people of Warminster with an outlet for fun.
“I am delighted that the detached youth worker provision has been given funding for another year,” said Cllr Stacie Allensby. “The interactions and support this provides to a lot of young people is worth every penny.”
