A Warminster charity which supports children with life-limiting conditions is appealing for donations from the community to fund life-changing equipment for a local boy.
Wonder Wards is aiming to raise £5,000 to fund a specialised wheelchair for Isak Palmer, a four-year-old boy from Trowbridge who lives with multiple conditions including a serious heart defect and cerebral palsy.
“The wheelchair is £5,000 in total which, sadly, we don’t have the funds to simply purchase outright,” said charity founder Leigh Gilles. “I really wish we did, but we can still hopefully raise 10 to 20 per cent of the cost.
“I have already guaranteed the family £500 from our current beneficiary pot so anything the public donate now will be added to that amount.
“This wheelchair will improve Isak’s day to day life immeasurably.”
Second Time Around, a second-hand shop on Westbury High Street, will also be supporting the appeal.
People can donate to the appeal via the charity’s donation page at www.wonderwards.org.uk/donate.
To ensure the money goes to Isak’s appeal, donors can specify this in the remarks on the donation page or get in touch with the charity directly.
