The builder behind the Jubilee Gardens development in Warminster has handed over the latest tranche of properties to a local housing association.
Persimmon Homes Wessex have formally transferred 15 homes to Selwood Housing on the second phase of the major site, with 13 designated for shared ownership and two for affordable rent.
The handover was marked on site alongside Wiltshire Councillor for Warminster West, Russell Hawker and Warminster Mayor, Andrew Cooper.
Jubilee Gardens will provide 1,000 new homes in the area once complete, 300 of which will be for a housing association. The planning application for the fourth phase of 266 properties was submitted this summer.
“Persimmon is delighted to partner once again with Selwood Housing after establishing a positive relationship with them across multiple sites over the years,” said Seb Spiller, Managing Director of Persimmon Homes Wessex.
“Tackling the housing crisis requires a positive and collaborative approach, and we were pleased to welcome Cllr Russell Hawker and Mayor Cooper of Warminster Town Council to the site so they could see this in action.”
Warminster Mayor, Andrew Cooper, said, “I would like to thank Persimmon and Selwood Housing for inviting us to Jubilee Gardens to mark this milestone, which is really important in demonstrating to the community how parties are working together to bring valuable and affordable housing to the area for those who need it.”
Councillor Russell Hawker added, “It was a pleasure to meet once again with Persimmon and Selwood Housing as they work together to bring new, high-quality homes to Warminster to meet the rising demand for housing in this part of Wiltshire. We all want to see a range of homes put in place to cater to the different housing requirements of people across the town, and this a great example of how this is being brought forward.”
