The Imberbus will be operating this weekend, with 30 Routemaster buses running from Warminster to Imber and other points on Salisbury Plain.
The annual event, taking place on Saturday 16th August, offers rare public access to Imber – a village evacuated in 1943 to provide space for military training and now under the control of the Ministry of Defence.
Additional activities will be held across Warminster, including Imber: The Ghost Village, a free exhibition featuring local families impacted by the evacuation, and a free Summer Art Exhibition at Warminster Library and Museum during library opening hours. St Lawrence Chapel will also be hosting cream teas and chapel tours.
Tickets to visit ‘the lost village’ are available in advance from Athenaeum Warminster and Iris and Olive during opening hours.
Access to Imber on this date will only be possible using the Imberbuses. Tickets cost £10 for adults and £2 for children. Parking will be available at Warminster School at £5 per car.
