A talk about Britain’s most elusive woodland mammals is coming to Warminster Civic Centre on Wednesday 27th May.
The illustrated talk will explore the ecology, behaviour and conservation of pine martens, with a particular focus on their return to southern England. It will be delivered by Marcus Ward and is organised by Warminster u3a.
Organisers say, “Pine martens are making a remarkable comeback after centuries of decline. Drawing on fieldwork from the New Forest, the talk will look at how we study these secretive animals, what threatens them and what their recovery means for our woodlands.
“Learn about their ecology, behaviour and the vital role they play in the woodland ecosystem, as well as the latest research and monitoring taking place in the forest.
“Packed with stunning photographs and fascinating insights, this talk offers a rare opportunity to discover more about one of Britain’s most charismatic mammals.”
The talk will start at 2pm and costs £4. For more information, visit the Warminster u3a website at https://warminster.u3asite.uk/events/
