Warminster Carnival has been named Best Carnival Procession, beating six other towns to take the award.
Warminster beat Frome, Shaftesbury, Gillingham, Wincanton, Castle Cary and Trowbridge to claim the top spot in the Wessex Grand Prix Circuit.
“We were so honoured to receive the cup for the fourth time,” said Sandra Major, chair of the Warminster Carnival Committee. “The cup was first awarded in 2014, when we won for the first time.
“We have such a good committee and have good support throughout the town with the town council and local businesses.
“We are grateful for all those who enter the carnival and all who come along to our fundraising events and support us all year round. Without the support, we would not be able to carry on with the carnival.”
Warminster Carnival will return this year on Saturday 31st October. Fundraising events will start soon, beginning with an Easter bingo night on Friday 20th March from 6pm at Warminster Civic Centre.
