Warminster School is celebrating exam success across both its Upper Sixth and Year 11 cohorts, with record-breaking results at A-level alongside strong performances at GCSE.
Sixth form pupils collected their A-level results on Thursday 14th August, with the school celebrating its best ever set of results for its Upper Sixth.
“Hot on the heels of our outstanding IB achievements earlier this year, our A-level and CTECH pupils have raised the bar even higher, delivering results that have surpassed all previous records,” said the school.

“In 2025, our pass rate has soared to an exceptional 99%, with an impressive 63% of grades awarded at the highest level (A*–B). 95% of our pupils have gained places at their chosen universities, or insurance choice, with destinations including Jesus College, Oxford, King’s College London, Exeter University, Birmingham University, Cardiff University, the University of Southampton – and many more prestigious institutions.
“Our staff could not be prouder. These achievements reflect not just talent, but dedication, resilience, and ambition. At Warminster, our Sixth Form stands apart by offering three equally rigorous pathways – the International Baccalaureate, vocational CTECH courses, and traditional A-levels, with the unique flexibility for pupils to tailor their own bespoke programme. This innovative approach empowers every pupil to play to their strengths and make the most of the incredible opportunities available here.”

The top A-level and CTECH performers include Alex, who achieved four A grades in biology, maths, music tech and physics, plus an A* in his EPQ. He will join Exeter University to study MEng mechanical engineering. Emily achieved three As in biology, chemistry and maths, plus an A in further maths. She will study BMBS medicine at Exeter University. Monty gained a distinction in CTECH business, double distinction in sport CTECH diploma, and a merit in CTECH engineering (equivalent to AAA C). He will take a gap year to further his sailing and yacht qualifications. Ella achieved A grades in biology and maths, a B in religious studies, and an A in her EPQ. She will study BSc (Hons) biomedical sciences at the University of Southampton. Chapin achieved A grades in business, geography and history. He will study BSc (Hons) international airline and airport management at the University of Surrey. Bryn achieved a distinction in CTECH business, and distinction* in CTECH diploma in sport (equivalent to A*AA). He will enjoy a gap year in New Zealand before studying BSc (Hons) sport, exercise and health sciences at Birmingham University.

Gillian Walmsley, Director of Sixth Form and Pathways, said, “I am absolutely thrilled with this year’s results. They are richly deserved and a testament to the sheer determination, commitment, and spirit of our pupils. I’ve seen first-hand the hard work they have poured into their studies, and it’s been a privilege to watch them succeed.”
A week later, on Thursday 21st August, Year 11 pupils received their GCSE results.
Approximately half of all grades awarded were between 9 and 6, and one in three grades were between 9 and 7. The school recorded particularly strong results in the sciences, art and photography, geography and Spanish.
“After much hard work, our outgoing Year 11 pupils have gained a set of results that they should be proud of as a cohort and as individuals,” said the school.

“Whilst we are very proud of all our pupils, the following have shown an outstanding level of achievement. Georgina J achieved six grade 9s and three grade 8s. Grace M gained six grade 9s, two grade 8s and a grade 7. Martha G achieved four grade 9s, three grade 8s and a grade 7. Freya W was awarded nine grades 9-7, Lily M also achieved nine grades 9-7, and Isis S gained seven grades 9-7.”
Headmaster, Matt Williams, said, “I am so proud of our Year 11 pupils and delighted that they have successfully navigated this stage in their education. Arguably the most disrupted year group from the Covid lockdowns, a fact that seems to be fading from many memories, they have shown amazing fortitude and determination.”
