A free event to be held in Warminster in September aims to support and celebrate local volunteering efforts.
Building on the success of last year’s Valuing Volunteering Fair, the Warminster Area Health and Wellbeing Forum is inviting local residents to a special half-day workshop aimed at celebrating, promoting, and revitalising volunteering in the Warminster area.
The event will take place on Tuesday 2nd September at the Civic Centre, starting at 10am. It is free to attend and open to anyone involved in or interested in volunteering, from individual helpers to representatives of community and volunteer groups.
The session will feature a presentation by Wessex Community Action, who will explain how they can support local volunteer organisations, and include a demonstration of their Wiltshire Together platform, a digital platform that connects people, groups and organisations to their community.
One of the organisers David Reeves said, “There are so many positive aspects of volunteering – for the volunteer, for those who are being helped and for the community at large – and myriad forms of volunteering.
“Representatives of volunteer and community groups, as well as interested individuals, are welcome but are asked to email healthandwellbeinginwarminster@gmail to allow assessment of attendee numbers.”
