Warminster Lions Club has donated or pledged more than £28,000 to 33 organisations and charities over the past year as it celebrates 63 years of serving the town.
The club says growing support for its second-hand bookshop in George Street has enabled it to help more local good causes than in previous years.
As the club marks the milestone, it has also welcomed two new members, Susanne Sutherland and Penny-Anne Ellis.
Membership officer Alan Case said, “It is always exciting to have new members join our club, bringing different ideas and energy. Susanne and Penny-Anne are most welcome.”
Penny-Anne joined after volunteering at the bookshop and learning more about the club. At the start of her retirement, she wanted to do something to keep active and give back to the community.
She said, “Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, made me feel wanted, and reassured me that I have something to add to the club.”
Susanne joined the Lions because she enjoys being part of a friendly team, helping others and making a difference. Having worked in university libraries for 30 years, she was also drawn to the bookshop.
