Warminster is set for big laughs with the launch of the brand-new Warminster Comedy Club, bringing monthly live comedy with household names and rising stars to the Athenaeum.
The club’s debut show on 21st September will be headlined by Justin Moorhouse, star of Live at the Apollo, Phoenix Nights, and BBC Radio 4.
“With his razor-sharp wit, natural warmth and laugh-out-loud storytelling, Justin is one of the UK’s top comedy talents,” said Jack Cray, trustee for the Athenaeum.
“Opening the night is Suzy Bennett – Funny Women champion and tour support for Jimmy Carr and Russell Kane. Suzy brings killer punchlines, infectious charm and big energy to the stage.
“And steering the show is your host Hatty Preston – a rising star known for her role in The Royals and appearances on the Have a Word podcast. Smart, fearless and brilliantly funny, she’s the perfect host to guide you through the night.”
The live stand-up comedy event is being brought to the Athenaeum in conjunction with The Laughter Lab who have been taking household names and fresh talent from the comedy circuit to venues around the country for over eight years.
“It’s been great working with The Laughter Lab to bring this new event to the town, and I’m looking forward to a full house of laughs and many more shows to come,” added Jack.
“This first show promises to be a fantastic night, with tickets selling fast; we’ve already sold over 70% so get yours quickly! With a welcoming atmosphere, big laughs, and unforgettable performances, it’s the perfect place for a night of quality live entertainment.
“We’re planning for this to be a monthly event in 2026 with Warminster Comedy Club bringing a stellar mix of top UK comedians and rising talent to the heart of the town.”
