Local choirs will be adding their voices to a worldwide celebration of peace when Warminster Community Choir hosts a Sing for Unity event next weekend.
The event will take place at the Minster Church of St Deny’s on Sunday 21st September at 2pm, marking the UN International Day of Peace 2025.
Sing for Unity is a global movement which aims to promote peace and unity. Choirs across the world will perform and sing at exactly 2pm local time, creating a wave of song travelling around the globe with the message, “We are one world, one people, and we stand together in unity and community.”
Katy Horner, leader of Warminster Community Choir, said, “The Minster Church of St. Deny’s in Warminster has kindly agreed to host the event and I have invited a number of local choirs to join us, both adult and school choirs.
“The idea is that the participating choirs will sing two or three songs each, and then at the end we will all join in with a singalong of Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World, followed by tea and cake.”
