The new leaseholder at the cafe in Warminster Lake Pleasure Grounds is preparing to reopen the venue next month.
Ryan Widdows, who previously managed the cafe, was awarded the lease by Warminster Town Council following a competitive tender process.
Ryan is planning a soft opening on Saturday 14th February, when the cafe will be renamed Pavilion Parlour, ahead of the busier summer months.
“Seeing the amount of positive feedback to me winning the tender was amazing, I was genuinely a little bit emotional,” said Ryan.
“My aim is to open to the public as soon as I can. The reason I’m opening in February half term, before it’s 100 percent ready with everything, is so I can serve the community.
“The sooner this place is open, the better it will be for the park.”
Following the announcement that he would be taking over the cafe, Ryan has been working on renovating the space and bringing in exciting changes, including new coffee, a plan to extend opening hours, and a plan to add new items to the menu.
“It’s going to be serving hot food, cold food, snacks, hot and cold drinks, but the major change, which I’m happy to bring to Warminster and which the park has needed for years in my opinion, is scooped ice cream.
“We’re going to have 10 flavours of Marshfield Farm ice cream coming in. There will be scooped ice cream in cones and tubs, which is exciting.”
Ryan is also hoping to work with the council to involve the cafe in events in the park throughout the year.
The cafe will reopen on Saturday 14th February at 10am.
