A new on-demand bus service has started operating in the Warminster area this month.
Wiltshire Connect is a flexible bus service that serves the rural area around Warminster and Mere. The on-demand service can be booked up to 7 days ahead, or on the day with 30 minutes notice.
It was officially launched on Tuesday 9th September during a ceremony at Warminster Station.
The buses can be used to travel between any location within each service area, and there is a wide range of designated pick up and drop off points available.
Villages served include Sutton Veny, The Deverills, Chitterne, Maiden Bradley and Tisbury, as well as leisure attractions at Longleat, Stourhead and Shearwater.
Adult fares are £2 for a ride up to five miles and £3 for rides above five miles. Children and young people aged 18 and under are half price. Ten ride passes are also available to purchase in the app or from a driver. Concessionary bus passes are accepted on Wiltshire Connect buses after 9am Monday to Friday and all-day Saturday.
The maximum distance available is thirteen miles. Short rides within Warminster, or rides where a timetabled bus service is available for the journey, are not permitted.
