A 12-hour darts marathon will take place next month to raise funds for a cancer support charity.
Members of the Warminster Conservative Club are running the marathon from 10am to 10pm on Saturday 4th October in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
“Whether you’re a darts enthusiast, a total beginner, or just fancy being part of something special, we’d love you to join us at some point during the day,” said organisers Kevin and Sue Jones. The Conservative Club’s darts team will also be taking part in relay play throughout the day.
“This is very close to my heart, having lost my father to cancer 10 years ago,” said Sue.
“I have since had friends with cancer, and the support given to them is wonderful. When this opportunity presented itself, I just knew it was time to give back and try to raise as much as possible.
“We will also be having a raffle on the night with prizes donated by our kind and generous local businesses, for which I’m extremely grateful.”
Taking place at Warminster Conservative Club, organisers are hoping to raise £2,000 from the event. Breakfast rolls will be served from 9.30am, and the bar will be open throughout the day.
Macmillan Cancer Support is the UK’s leading cancer care charity, providing specialist healthcare, information and financial support to people affected by cancer and their families.
