Music lovers can look forward to a free afternoon of live entertainment as Inspire returns to the Lake Pleasure Grounds this month.
The festival will take place on Sunday 5th July from 1pm to 7pm, and will feature live music, food and drink, children’s activities and community stalls.
Creative director Thomas Hiscocks said, “Since its launch in 2013, Inspire has showcased more than 70 local acts, providing a platform for musicians of all ages and experience levels to perform in front of a welcoming family audience. This year promises another wonderfully varied line-up featuring everything from blues and folk to indie, Brit-pop, country and rock, as well as a mixture of covers and original music.”
Returning favourites AmJam will open the festival with a set of blues and blues-based rock. The line-up also includes Dusk Drums, Kodachrome, who blend indie, progressive rock, funk, soul and metal, local performer Kirstie Price, folk-rock and metal fusion band Bluestone Arc and Claire B and Wills from Be Like Will, who will reunite for a special one-off performance.
One of the highlights will be Primate State, making their debut after being inspired to form a band following Inspire 2023. The group features young musicians Theo and Tym, who recently won gold at their school’s Young Musicians’ Awards, marking their first public performance outside of school.
The penultimate act will be Incolour, the indie-pop project of singer-songwriter Georgie Amelia, returning after a previous appearance with Dr Alibi in 2022.
The festival will be headlined by Sad Dad Club, who have built a strong following across the South West since forming in 2022. Known for energetic performances and crowd-pleasing sets, they will close the event in the park.
