A cultural event will bring the Warminster community together for a day of Nepali culture, food and entertainment to raise money for Gurkha veterans.
The event will feature an all-you-can-eat Nepali buffet, a cultural fashion show, stalls and a Gurkha history talk. Money raised will go towards supporting the Gurkha Welfare Trust, a charity providing financial, medical and development aid to Gurkha veterans, their families and communities.
“Our aim is to celebrate the long-standing connection between Warminster and the Gurkha/Nepali community while creating a welcoming event for everyone in the town to enjoy,” said Sisekna Limbu, the organiser.
“It is in honour of, and to support, the wonderful work of the Gurkha Welfare Trust, which is very close to my heart and part of my heritage. It feels like a meaningful way to celebrate Gurkha and Nepali culture while also raising awareness and support for the veterans, their families and communities that the trust helps.”

All of the food will be created by Sisekna’s family, including her father, a Gurkha chef.
“It will be a very authentic home-style Nepali buffet which we’re really excited to share with everyone,” said Sisekna.
Items on the menu include steamed Nepali pork dumplings, aloo dum, chicken curry and dal. There will also be desserts, including kheer, a creamy spiced rice pudding, and Sisekna’s own fusion bakes.
“I really hope this event can inspire young people to realise that their dreams can become reality if they take the step to make them happen,” said Sisekna. “Growing up as a military child, I went to many events like this where the adults organised everything and we would just dance, eat delicious food and have fun with friends.
“Now it feels very special that the roles have switched, and I’m the one helping bring it all together. It’s a big responsibility, but it’s also incredibly nostalgic. If this event can encourage even one young person to believe they can create something meaningful for their community, that would mean the world to me.”
The event will take place on Saturday 21st March from 12pm to 6pm at Warminster Civic Centre. Advance tickets cost £7 for adults, including entry and buffet, £3 for children and students, and £2 for entry only.
