The Warminster Journal is celebrating its first anniversary since being relaunched and returning to the community after being saved from closure.
The 144-year-old newspaper was at risk of closure when previous owners ceased printing in December 2024. Wiltshire Publications, a family-run newspaper group, took over and brought it back as a free fortnightly publication in March 2025, delivering over 9,000 copies to homes and businesses across Warminster and offering a dedicated digital edition online.

Editor Ian Drew said, “It’s been a great first year since we took over the Journal. The response from the community has been amazing, and we’ve loved covering everything from local achievements and events to stories that matter to residents.
“We’d like to thank all the local groups and organisations who have shared their news with us, and especially the businesses whose advertising support makes the paper possible. Their backing ensures Warminster continues to have a newspaper dedicated to the town.”
Wiltshire Publications, which has over 40 years of experience in local journalism, also publishes the Melksham News, White Horse News in Westbury and Frome Times.
“This first year has been about reconnecting with the community and showing just how vibrant Warminster is,” added Ian. “We look forward to many more years of celebrating the town and keeping residents informed.”
