Warminster’s monthly Carer’s Cafe will relaunch next month at Henford House Care Home.
The Carer’s Cafe will now be hosted in partnership with Carers Together Wiltshire, who have taken over running the group from the charity Carer Support Wiltshire, which closed last month.
The first session will take place on Monday 20th April from 10.30am until 12pm. Sessions will then take place on the third Monday of each month.
“This is a great opportunity for carers or people who may become carers in the future to meet others, share experiences with one another and get help and advice from trained caregivers,” said Patricia Alton, General Manager at Henford House. “We are inviting everyone to come along and have a coffee and chat to others are carers or who are concerned about caring for a loved one”.
The cafe is free to attend and provides carers with an opportunity to meet others who are caring for friends and family or for those who may be taking on a caregiver role in the future.
A spokesperson from Carers Together Wiltshire said, “Unpaid carers play an essential role in our communities, and any loss of support services is felt keenly. We want carers in the Warminster area who may be worried about the closure of Carer Support Wiltshire to know that they are not alone during this time and that support remains available.
“Carers Together Wiltshire continues to remain open to all unpaid carers across the county. This includes our Carer Cafes, which are continuing as normal and provide welcoming, safe spaces for carers to connect and receive support.”
