Gas pipes across Warminster are set to be upgraded over the next year as part of a major improvement programme.
Wales & West Utilities will replace nearly eight kilometres of gas pipes in Hollybush Road, Smallbrook Road, Ashley Combe, Pepper Place, East End Avenue, Pound Street and Imber Road.
More than £2.3million is being invested in the project, with the gas emergency and pipeline service working with Wiltshire Council to manage any necessary traffic measures.
Mick Gallavin, who is managing the project, said, “We’re investing in our gas network to ensure it remains safe, reliable and fit for the future for the customers we serve across Warminster.
“We’ll continue to work closely with local authorities, and keep communities informed as projects are planned and delivered.
“We understand our work can cause disruption, but it is essential to maintain a resilient network that people rely on every day.
“While much of the gas network is out of sight, it plays a vital role in daily life – from heating homes to cooking meals and we know how important it is that gas is there when people need it.
