Residents can now commemorate a loved one with a memorial plaque on the Boat House in the Lake Pleasure Grounds.
Plaques can be purchased from Warminster Town Council for £350, which covers installation, cleaning, inspections and minor repairs for a 10-year period.
The plaques are made of durable, weather-resistant aluminium measuring 9 inches by 3 inches each, with text of up to 100 characters, sourced from Warminster Engraving. Once text is approved, they will be securely mounted on the side of the Boat House where the metal steps are located.
“We know how important the Lake Pleasure Grounds is to the residents and visitors to Warminster,” said estates manager Kevin Whitehorn. “It is a well-used community space, valued for recreation, wildlife, and reflection. Increasingly, there is interest from residents in having a dedicated place to remember individuals who have had connections to the area.”
At the end of the 10 years, the family or sponsor will have the option to renew the plaque for a further term or have it respectfully removed. If a plaque becomes significantly damaged, the cost of its replacement will be covered by the town council.
