A Warminster charity supporting people affected by loneliness and social isolation has thanked two founding trustees for their years of service while encouraging more volunteers to get involved.
Michael Tansey and Deborah Gogarty recently stepped down as trustees of Open Door Warminster, which runs Chat Cafes and support groups in the town. Marion Barton has also stepped down as chair of the trustees, but she and Michael will continue supporting the charity as volunteers.
“It is with heartfelt thanks that the trustees wish to thank Michael Tansey for all his hard work on the board and Deborah Gogarty for her outstanding support behind the scenes with governance, administration and fundraising,” said a spokesperson.
“The trustees look forward to working together to support the future cafes with all the generous help provided by their volunteers. It is such a vital and well used facility for those in Warminster and surrounding areas.”
The charity is encouraging more local people to get involved as volunteers.
Treasurer Mike Read said, “Should anyone wish to join our team, please give me a call on 07716 676174. I am happy to chat about the opportunities and experiences available to any new volunteers of the Chat Cafes.”
