Warminster Journal invites a Wiltshire councillor to write about issues of their choosing.
Cllr Barrie Pirie
AS a proud resident of Warminster for over 17 years, I am honoured to have been recently elected as the Wiltshire Councillor representing Warminster Broadway.
It has been an exciting, and at times challenging, four months as a newly elected councillor managing and balancing the many priorities coming my way. I am just glad that I enjoy being busy.
Locally, I am dedicated to supporting our town and local communities and residents with local issues and priorities. I am still meeting with residents, resident groups, local charities and forums to understand how I can continue to be a strong voice for them, both locally and at a county level.
I regularly attend Warminster Town Council meetings, and I am working closely with the Town Council on the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, to ensure that we support developments that will improve Warminster for residents, protect the environment with sustainable developments that reduce the risks of flooding.
I am always happy to listen to residents across Warminster Broadway who have concerns or issues and offer advice and support to help resolve these issues by coordinating with the Town Council or Wiltshire Council.
With many years of council experience, I know who to contact for assistance and can connect residents with the appropriate members of staff or departments. My contact details are barry.pirie@wiltshire.gov.uk or call me on 07778936040.
Please join us at our next Warminster Area Board meeting Thursday 9th October 2025 at 7pm, Warminster Library.
