Warminster School is celebrating the achievements of its largest International Baccalaureate (IB) cohort in recent years, with all 24 pupils in the 2025 group passing their programmes – outperforming both UK and global averages.
The school’s IB class of 2025 has achieved a 100% pass rate across both the Diploma and Career-Related Programmes, compared to a UK average of around 94% and a global average of around 80%. The cohort also achieved an average UCAS points score of 168, the equivalent of three A* grades at A-level.
Among this year’s standout performers is Henry Williams, who scored 40 points out of a possible 45 – a result equivalent to four A*s and a B at A-level. Henry has secured a place at the University of Oxford to study Psychology, Philosophy and Linguistics, before commencing his military training at Sandhurst.
Other high scorers include Faustine Hamon (37 points), Ed Hunnibell (34), and Angelina Gutteridge, Moritz Bischof and Sam Milner-Smith, who each achieved 33 points.
The IB pupils are now preparing for courses at top universities in the UK and abroad including King’s College London, Exeter, Newcastle, Amsterdam, McGill in Montreal, Innlandet in Norway and East 15 Acting School. Others are taking time out for gap years before continuing their academic journeys.
Headmaster, Matt Williams said, “Yet again, our IB cohort have done us proud with some outstanding results and a 100% pass rate that is considerably above both the UK and international figures. With destinations such as the University of Oxford, King’s College London, Exeter and Newcastle, as well as top institutions overseas, our pupils have demonstrated a drive and rigour that is both impressive and illustrative of Warminster’s strong academic core.”
IB Coordinator, Simon Hall, added, “We are immensely proud of our pupils for their achievements in this year’s IB examinations. Their results are a true reflection of their commitment, resilience, and determination throughout their studies.
“The IB programme is globally respected for its rigorous academic framework and its focus on critical thinking, inquiry, creativity, service and global awareness. Our pupils have consistently demonstrated these attributes, and their success is thoroughly deserved.
“I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to our outstanding IB teaching staff. Their dedication, knowledge, and steadfast support have been crucial in helping our students reach their academic and personal goals. Attaining the IB Diploma is a remarkable accomplishment for each individual, but it is also the result of a collaborative journey shared by the entire IB community, both pupils and educators. It has been a privilege to be part of that team. To all of our IB pupils, I wish you the very best as you move on from Warminster School, ready to face the world as thoughtful, informed, and compassionate citizens.”
