A new president with 26 years of service has been appointed at Warminster Lions Club.
Richard Owen took over from previous president Ros Harrison, who held the role for two years, at an afternoon tea for members earlier this month.
Richard has been a Lion for 26 years and this will be his fifth time serving as president.
“I am most looking forward to working with an excellent team of like-minded members and volunteers in finding ways to support our local community,” said Richard.
“I hope to be able to continue working with projects old and new in this coming Lions year and keep the ‘fun’ in fundraising.”
Over the last 12 months, more than £28,000 has been donated or pledged to good causes by Warminster Lions, mainly thanks to profits from their second-hand bookshop in George Street.
The club will continue to support local causes over the next year.
