A donation of £1,700 has enabled the MS Therapy Centre to purchase a specialist piece of equipment to support mobility.
The grant was given by the Morrisons Foundation, the charitable arm of the supermarket, which has covered the costs of an innovative ‘Vela Exercise Chair’, offering safe, supported movement for people with limited mobility.
“We’re incredibly grateful to the Morrisons Foundation for supporting our work,” said Amanda Strong, Grants and Fundraising Coordinator at Wessex MS Therapy Centre.
“This generous grant will make a real difference to the lives of people with MS and other neurological conditions in our community.”
Located in the heart of Warminster, the Wessex MS Therapy Centre offers vital support for people with MS and neurological conditions from communities across Wiltshire, providing therapies and a welcoming, accessible space that promotes independence and well-being.
David Scott, Morrisons Foundation trustee, said, “Supporting charities at the heart of our community is what the Foundation is all about, and I’m delighted that we’ve been able to provide this grant to Wessex MS Therapy Centre.
“The exercise chair will make a huge difference to people affected by MS and other related mobility issues for many years to come.”
The Morrisons Foundation was set up by Morrisons supermarket in 2015 and awards grants for charity projects that help improve people’s lives. Since launching, over £45million has been donated to hundreds of charities across England, Scotland and Wales.
