A Warminster man was arrested after police discovered drugs and weapons during a warrant at an address in the town.
Warminster Journal joined the Warminster Neighbourhood Policing Team and other specialist units as officers carried out a warrant under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act on Wednesday 24th June.
A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and possession of Class B drugs after controlled drugs were found at the address. Samurai swords were also recovered.
He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Acting Inspector Lyndsey Smith, from the Warminster Neighbourhood Policing Team, said, “I’ve pulled together my team, we’ve worked in partnership with the neighbourhood tasking team, we’ve got our dog units to assist, and lots of other colleagues have come to assist us with the search.”
Police said the arrest was made possible following intelligence received from the public.
“I just want to say thank you to the community and all the hard work that goes into helping us in the community with warrants, because tackling drugs is quite important, not only to us, but also to you,” added Inspector Smith.
“I think it sends a message out to the community that we rely on that information and need that information to come forward. It’s a disruption in the community and it just shows that with this proactive work we will get those positive results.”
