The former mayor of Warminster has donated more than £2,000 to his chosen charities, Wiltshire Mind and Open Door Warminster, after raising the money during his year in office.
Councillor Andrew Cooper served as Warminster’s mayor from May 2025 to May 2026. During his term, he raised £2,183 through a range of fundraising events, including his popular Mayor’s Charity Tea Dance, which raised more than £800.
“I’m absolutely delighted, and I would thank all the people who supported my charities and made all this possible,” said Cllr Cooper. “This money is going to make a massive difference and ensure help is shared right through the community.”
Each charity received £1,091.50 to help continue its work supporting people in the local community.
