A Warminster trio of runners have completed the Bristol Half Marathon, raising over £1,500 for charity.
Joseph Carlile, Alex Grant and Callum McCulloch – who are all in sixth form at Kingdown School – took on the challenge on Sunday 11th May.
They raised money for Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer’s Support, two charities with links to their loved ones.
The teenagers were also able to use the run to contribute towards their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Joseph said, “The Bristol Half Marathon was a great experience for me as my first race. Despite the heat and fatigue, I had a great time with such amazing support behind all the runners from the crowd.
“I’m so grateful for every bit of support I have received and can’t wait to move on to the next challenge.”
Alex said, “Running the Bristol Half Marathon was certainly one of the most rewarding and memorable days of my life.
“The support I received really helped me push through every stride and got me through the hot weather. I can’t wait to see what I tackle next, as this event has ignited a great passion for running and raising money for such a great cause.”
Callum added, “I struggled through the Bristol Half Marathon due to a lack of proper training and the unexpectedly hot weather, which made every mile feel tougher.
“Despite the physical challenge, I found the crowd’s energy and the scenic route motivating. Crossing the finish line was exhausting but incredibly rewarding.”
