A major £2.5million redevelopment of the spa at Bishopstrow Hotel & Spa near Warminster is set to be completed this summer.
The hotel, part of Kaleidoscope Hotels, is transforming its existing spa into an expanded indoor and outdoor ‘wellness hub’ which is due to reopen in June or July.
The new-look spa is centred around an outdoor spa village and will include a 14-metre swimming pool, an eight-metre hydrotherapy pool, a spacious outdoor sauna and a cold plunge bath, hot tubs, outdoor studio cabanas and an outdoor bar. Fitness sessions, sauna classes, therapies and spa treatments will be offered, alongside popular forest bathing, the traditional Japanese practice launched by the hotel earlier this year.
Managing Director Jonathan Walker said, “By integrating our new outdoor spa village within the landscape, we hope to invite people to reconnect with nature, focus on their wellbeing journey and be curious to the transformative power of the outdoors.
“The grounds invite exploration, featuring a tranquil river garden, a sustainable no-dig kitchen garden, a classical Doric temple and ancient woodland trails.”
Bishopstrow has also partnered with the Forest of Imagination, whose art installations are dotted across the estate, providing spaces for quiet contemplation.
The redevelopment has been led by spa director Angela Bonner, who joined the hotel in 2025.
“Our new treatments and therapies will perfectly complement our outdoor focus,” she said. “Services like our popular Forest Bathing will now sit alongside a new curated menu designed to maximise the benefits of thermal contrasts and the open air. We aim to ensure every element of the new spa offers a genuine, nature-led path to total wellbeing.”
