A proposal for 77 new homes has been submitted for land off Ashley Coombe, on Warminster’s southern edge.
The plans, submitted by Rubix Land Limited, include a mixture of two-bed, three-bed and four-bed homes. They also include public open space and allocate 30% of the properties as affordable housing.
Rubix says the homes will be accessed via an extension of Ashley Coombe, and residents have raised concerns about access to the site.
In a comment on the Wiltshire Council planning portal, one resident said, “The access arrangement from the site, via Ashley Coombe and Ashley Place, is particularly concerning.
“The junction geometry, combined with frequent on-street parking close to the corner, creates restricted visibility and requires drivers to manoeuvre with care when exiting. From daily experience, this already feels unsafe, and I am concerned that additional traffic would materially increase the risk of accidents or near-misses, particularly at peak times.
“While the submitted Transport Assessment concludes that the impact would not be ‘severe’, this does not fully reflect the real-world experience of residents who use these roads every day.”
The report from Rubix Land said, “The Transport Assessment confirms that the site is well situated for sustainable travel and can be accessed safely and efficiently.”
The consultation deadline is 13th February, with a decision expected to be made by Wiltshire Council in mid-April.
The plans can be viewed on Wiltshire Council’s planning portal under reference PL/2025/10007.
