Seven Scouts from the 3rd Wiltshire Warminster Independent Scout Group braved a night outdoors as part of a challenge to support former members of the armed forces.
The group took part in the Royal British Legion’s Great Tommy Sleep Out challenge, which encourages people to sleep outside for one night in solidarity with veterans who are experiencing homelessness.
Despite the weather, the Scouts supported each other by camping out in each other’s gardens and raised £430.
Each Scout was awarded specially commissioned badges from the RBL’s Institute, which they can wear on their uniforms throughout the year. The badges were presented during a regular troop meeting.
Group Scout Manager ‘Ahmeek’ said, “We are proud of these Scouts, who offered without hesitation to take part following a troop discussion about veterans who may be less fortunate than themselves, but who have given so much for others over the years.
“Well done to all involved, and a big thank you to the public for supporting us with donations.”
The 3rd Wiltshire Warminster Independent Scout Group (3WW) currently has vacancies in all sections for boys and girls aged 5 to 18.
