A determined group of friends have banded together to raise more than £2,600 for a Warminster family impacted by motor neurone disease (MND).
On Saturday 12th July, Su and Glyn Mortley, Steve Matthews, Eddie Over, Jay Highton and Jimmy Knibbs took over the Studiobelle fitness studio for a ‘Spinathon’ from midday to midnight.
The challenge raised funds in support of Eddie’s son Jon who, at the age of 42, has been diagnosed with MND. The fundraisers were joined by friends, family and even people who do not know Jon personally but wanted to support the cause.

A special visit from the White Ensign Association – Jon served in the Royal Navy for 22 years – also lifted spirits for the group.
Su, one of the Spinathon organisers, said, “Alongside the actual event (which was hot, sticky and involved a variety of outfit and costume changes!), there was also a bake sale with beautiful cakes and bakes donated by wonderful people who wanted to help.
“We would like to thank everyone who helped, from Angie at Studiobelle, to everyone who donated, supported, baked, cycled and helped everyone through the event on such a hot day.
“Every penny raised will go directly to Jon and his family so that they can make some memories together while Jon is still able to.”
