Sustainable Warminster

Sustainable Warminster recently asked local residents what they think about environmental action in the town and the message was clear: people care, they want to help and they’re looking for more ways to get involved.

However, the survey also highlighted an important challenge. While activities such as Toad Patrol, litter picking and local campaigns are widely recognised, many are unaware of other key areas of Sustainable Warminster’s work. More than half of respondents had not heard of projects focused on wildlife protection and education, growing your own food, the Blue Heart rewilding campaign and community education, despite saying they would like to learn more about them.

The findings suggest that the issue is not a lack of interest. Rather, people do not always know what opportunities are available or how they can contribute.

Residents also told us they would like a clearer understanding of Sustainable Warminster’s overall mission and a wider range of ways to participate. Many people favoured flexible opportunities, such as one-off volunteering activities, short-term projects and options that can fit around work, family and other commitments.

By sharing more stories about our work, raising awareness of lesser-known projects and creating more inclusive ways for people to get involved, we can turn interest into action and strengthen our collective impact.
