Thousands enjoy splash pad during summer season

Around 90,000 visits were recorded at Warminster’s splash pad during its extended summer season.

The outdoor water play area opened on Friday 24th April and closed for the season on Friday 18th September, with opening hours extended by an hour compared with previous years.

Visitor numbers peaked at more than 3,450 on Wednesday 12th August.

“We are delighted that so many people were able to enjoy the splash pad over the summer,” said Cllr Stacie Allensby, Chair of the Parks & Estate Committee.

“It remains a brilliant and welcome addition to the park, and we continue to receive positive feedback from local families and visitors from further afield.”

The splash pad, which features several water attractions, has drawn thousands of visitors since opening in 2022.

A Warminster Town Council spokesperson said, “We are delighted to have enjoyed another successful season, with the splash pad proving a major draw for Warminster throughout the summer – especially during the heatwaves with our dedicated team keeping the facility open.”

“Loved by locals and visitors, it has been fantastic to see thousands of people enjoying this community asset. We also thank the public for respecting the rules. The splash pad will return in 2027, with exciting plans to be announced soon.”

The park will continue to host activities throughout autumn, including the Pumpkins in the Park event on Wednesday 28th October.
