A veterans’ charity is preparing to set out from Warminster on a 200-mile fundraising walk to Anfield stadium in Liverpool, aiming to raise funds and awareness for members of the Armed Forces affected by mental health challenges.
A team of 19 from The Brotherhood Charity, a newly formed organisation supporting veterans, serving personnel and their families, will begin the five-day challenge on Tuesday 24th February.
Marc Quinn, co-founder and treasurer of The Brotherhood Charity, was born and raised in Liverpool and now lives in Warminster. He chose Anfield stadium as the finishing point for the challenge as the stadium is home to Liverpool Football Club whose anthem is ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone.’
“This walk is about sending a clear message: no one who has served our country should ever feel forgotten or alone,” said Marc.
“Every mile we walk represents someone who is struggling quietly, and every donation helps us offer practical support, guidance, and a sense of belonging.”
The event will be completed as a relay, with 13 walkers split into three teams. The core team includes Marc, who is currently serving in the Military Provost Guard Service, and 12 veterans. They will be supported by five additional team members.
Each day will be divided into three legs, with teams alternating between walking and public engagement. The group will stop in communities along the route to host fundraising activities and speak to residents about mental health support for the Armed Forces community.
The walk aims to highlight the challenges many veterans and serving personnel face, including post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression and the difficulties of transitioning into civilian life.
“This walk is more than just a challenge – it is a message of hope, unity, and support,” said Marc.
“Together, with your help, we can provide resources, guidance, and a safe space for those who need it most.”
Funds raised will go directly towards the charity’s work, including welfare support, community initiatives and mental health-focused services for veterans and their families.
