The Warminster Carnival Committee has presented cheques to several charities and worthy causes from across the town.
Chairperson Sandra Major handed over the funds during a special meeting at the Old Bell in June.
She was supported by fellow committee members Sam Ryall, Felicity and Robert Nurdin, Pip Ridout, Paul MacFarlane, Carol Jones and Wendy Parsons.
The groups receiving cheques included the Fire Fighters Charity, Warminster Community Radio, 2238 (Warminster) Squadron Air Training Corps, Warminster Scout Group, Frome Carnival Committee, Dorset Marshals, Warminster Royal British Legion, Warminster School — who donated their cheque to the charity Every Youth — Wessex MS Centre and Alzheimer’s Support.
This year’s carnival day will be held on Saturday 25th October. To ensure the carnival continues, the committee is asking for volunteers.
