Pupils from a local primary school have been appointed as sports ambassadors and are preparing to lead games and activities for the rest of the school.
Four Year 6 children from Wylye Valley Primary School in Codford recently travelled to Trowbridge Civic Centre for an all–day training event to prepare them for their new roles.
“The children learnt the qualities required to be an ambassador and the responsibility they have in being role models for the rest of the school,” said teaching assistant Andy Pragnell.
“They also discovered more about the school games values of honesty, determination, passion, respect, teamwork and self-belief.”
The children will meet with Headteacher Rob Barnes to discuss the various physical activities they plan to run at break and lunchtimes for the school. They will also hold their own assembly for the whole school, to explain their roles and outline their plan to encourage everyone to take part in fun activities.
