Town finished the week with a trip to bottom placed Hengrove.
The team were able to welcome back Toby Worts, Corey Gardner and Jordan Pinder into the side and Matt Hudd and Seb Hounsell to the bench. Unfortunately George Walker-Haynes was unable to shake off a knock to take his place in the starting 11.
Town began well, playing some good football with Tyson and Jake linking up well and took an early lead. Jake was tripped in the area and this week the ref pointed to the spot. Up stepped Jordan who smashed the spot kick past the keeper.
Town looked to add a second forcing several corners but all to no avail. The home side battled back and were gifted an equaliser soon after; a poor misplaced pass was swept to the onrushing forward who was able to level. 1-1.
The game had become scrappy which suited the home side and town were frustrated with their play. HT 1-1
The start of the second half continued as the first had ended; a scrappy affair with not much quality and the Red and Blacks were struggling to find any fluidity in their play.
They were soon behind; a forward pass by the home side caught the Town defence square and a desperate challenge saw the ref award the home side a penalty kick which was duly dispatched.
With half an hour remaining Town had to up their game. Seb Hounsell and Jack Duck were introduced and a formation change encouraged the lads to get forward. A corner was won and delivered into the danger area, the home side failed to clear and Newman poked the ball home. This reinvigorated the lads and they were fully on the front foot.
A fine pass from Toby sent Tyson in the clear, his shot was perfectly judged and lobbed over the keeper into the net. 3-2 to Town. The lads were in control now and with a few minutes remaining, Tyson played in Jack who fired in his second of the afternoon to put the result in no doubt. FT 2-4.
A good result for the lads who fought hard to come back from being 2-1 behind.
