Bath-based Trio Paradis are continuing their popular series of Café Concerts at Warminster Civic Centre next month, part of a programme of more than 120 daytime performances they give each year across Wiltshire and Somerset.
The concerts are designed to make live classical music accessible to new audiences – particularly those who may find it difficult to attend evening events including those without transport, with limited finances or in full-time caring roles.
The trio – Jacquelyn Bevan (piano), Ruth O’Shea (violin) and Linda Stocks (cello) – perform at the Civic Centre on the first Friday of most months at 3pm.
The next concert takes place on Friday 1st May with the theme of Folk Connections, including The Banks of Green Willow by George Butterworth and the highly atmospheric Phantasy Trio by Irish composer Joan Trimble.
On Friday 5th June the programme is Iberia: music of Spain and Portugal.
The cafe will be open serving home-made cakes from 2.30pm. Concerts last around 45 minutes and entry is by donation.
