A free nature event organised by the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust will come to Warminster this month.
Country Comes to Town will take place at the Lake Pleasure Grounds and Smallbrook Meadows Nature Reserve on Saturday 16th May. From 10am to 4pm, visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities celebrating local wildlife and the trust’s conservation work across the county.
Activities will include guided tours of Smallbrook Meadows, children’s crafts, hook-a-duck, a smoothie bike and the chance to meet local wildlife experts, including the trust’s award-winning water team, Warminster Toad Patrol and Sustainable Warminster.
“We are thrilled to bring the magic of the countryside into the heart of Warminster this year,” said Becki McKinlay, director of engagement and fundraising.
“This event is such a great opportunity for us as Wiltshire’s local Wildlife Trust to connect with our community and show people the incredible nature that can be found right on our doorstep.
“By engaging families with the beauty of reserves like Smallbrook Meadows, we hope to inspire everyone to play their part in nature’s recovery across the county.”
The annual event takes place in a different Wiltshire town each year. It is free to attend and no booking is required.
