Pumpkins bring spooky fun to Warminster park

More than 150 decorated pumpkins went on display at Warminster’s Lake Pleasure Grounds for a family event celebrating Halloween.

Pumpkins in the Park returned on Wednesday 28th October, with hundreds of people gathering to see the entries and enjoy live entertainment.

The pumpkins, which ranged from traditional designs to more inventive creations, arrived at the park from 5pm before being judged for their creativity, originality and neatness.

The event, organised by Warminster Town Council, also featured performances by Amore Entertainment and illuminated boats on the lake provided by Warminster Model Boat Club.

The Mayor of Warminster, Cllr Jack Jones, and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Liz Lee, judged the entries and presented prizes at the bandstand.

First prize went to Axel and Miguel, with Harper taking second place and Lily third.

“It was fantastic to see so many families and residents coming together to enjoy Pumpkins in the Park,” Cllr Jones said. “Events like this really showcase the wonderful community spirit we have here in Warminster, creating lasting memories for families and bringing people of all ages together.”

A town council spokesperson said, “We are delighted by the success of Pumpkins in the Park and thrilled that so many enjoyed the event. We now look forward to our expanded, biggest-ever three-day Christmas celebration, starting on Friday 27th November.”
