A charity day is being held next month at local funeral directors F Curtis & Son in support of a local Alzheimer’s charity.
The funeral directors are raising money for the Old Silk Works day club in Warminster, run by Alzheimer’s Support, after seeing how the disease affects families.
The event on Friday 5th September from 11am to 3pm will include tea, homemade cakes, and a charity raffle.
“As a funeral director, many of our families choose to have any monies donated at their loved one’s service to benefit the Old Silk Works,” said Lindsey Elvin, funeral arranger at F Curtis & Son. “We hear from people who have used or are involved with the Old Silk Works Alzheimer’s Support Wiltshire, and what fantastic work they do.
“Alzheimer’s and dementia are becoming more prevalent; we hear some heartbreaking stories from families who’ve had to deal with losing someone not once, but twice essentially.”
Everyone is encouraged to attend the event, with organisers saying, “Any donation, however big or small, is gratefully received and 100% of whatever we raise will benefit the charity”.
