Almost 50 people attended the launch of a new tabletop gaming community in Warminster earlier this month.
The Warminster Games Masters Guild was set up by a group of friends to create a hub for tabletop gaming enthusiasts and complete beginners, with plans to expand the range of games on offer in future.
The first event, held at the Civic Centre, featured a Blood Bowl table and four Dungeons & Dragons tables, including one being run by a private group. The guild is already planning a second event, with the success of the first also inspiring talks of a local Blood Bowl league.

“We said from the beginning that this would be led by the people who show up,” said secretary Paul Barnes. “The community has shown up, and now we get to build something together which is incredibly exciting.”
Chair Robin Bailey added, “Having a private group use our event as a home for their own session is exactly what we hoped this could become. We’re not just here to run games, we want to be a space where the whole community can play, whatever that looks like for them. Anyone is welcome to bring their own group along.”
The guild hopes that in the future, it will be able to expand the event to include a wider selection of games, including Warhammer and Magic: The Gathering.
The next event will take place on Friday 3rd July at the Civic Centre.
More details, including timings, will be posted on the Warminster Games Masters Guild Facebook and Instagram pages.
