A regular tabletop gaming event for enthusiasts and complete beginners is launching in Warminster next month.
The first event will be run by the Warminster Games Masters Guild, set up by a group of friends who have spent the past few years playing tabletop games together locally and are now opening it up to the wider community.
The first session will take place on Friday 5th June from 6pm to 10pm at Warminster Civic Centre.
It will feature games including Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), Daggerheart, Pokémon cards, Magic: The Gathering and Blood Bowl, alongside board games such as Hero Quest and Munchkin.
There will also be structured activities such as D&D character creation for beginners and a one-shot adventure for more experienced players.
“Tabletop gaming is a brilliant way to meet people and be creative, but it can feel hard to get into if you don’t know anyone,” said Robin Bailey, chair of the Warminster Games Masters Guild.
“We’ve all been that person who wanted to try D&D but didn’t know where to start. This is designed to be a friendly, low-pressure space.
“Warminster doesn’t have a regular gaming community hub yet. We want to change that.”
The group hopes to make the event monthly, shaped by feedback from attendees.
It is open to anyone aged 12 and over. Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult. Entry costs £5 on the door, with profits helping to fund future sessions.
