Speed enforcement recorded 18 vehicles exceeding the limit on Victoria Road during a two-day period last month.
The drivers were recorded during speed check sessions on 21st and 22nd January. The road has a speed limit of 30mph. The fastest vehicle was recorded travelling at 46mph in the rain.
“On 21st January, the weather was wet and windy, and roads were wet. It rained on and off during enforcement,” said a spokesperson from Warminster police.
“On 22nd January, it had been raining earlier, but the rain had stopped during the time enforcement took place. Roads were wet.
“Proceedings will now be undertaken to ensure the most appropriate outcome for the offenders takes place.”
Depending on previous convictions and history, 15 drivers will be offered a speed awareness course, and three drivers will receive a Fixed Penalty Notice and three points.
