Five fearless fundraisers took to the skies last month to raise vital funds for the Wessex MS Therapy Centre, raising nearly £12,000 for the charity.
The tandem skydives took place at Go Skydive in Old Sarum, Salisbury, with participants jumping from 15,000ft. Among them were four women – Laura, Jules, Kim and Jo, who all live with Multiple Sclerosis and decided to take on the challenge of a lifetime to support the centre that supports them.
They were joined by the centre’s CEO, Rosie Eliot, who completed her skydive in honour of celebrating her 60th birthday this summer.
“It was the most exhilarating experience – absolutely unforgettable,” said Rosie. “I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate this milestone birthday and support the people we’re here to help. I’m so proud of Laura, Jules, Kim and Jo – what they’ve done is incredibly brave and inspiring.”
The £11,800 raised will go directly towards the Wessex MS Therapy Centre’s vital services, which provide therapies, support and wellbeing activities for people living with MS and other long-term health conditions.
“The centre is entirely self-funded, relying on the generosity of supporters to continue its work,” added Rosie.
“For those feeling inspired, the next charity skydive is already planned – and places are open to anyone looking for an adrenaline-filled way to make a difference.”
