The village of Horningsham is gearing up for a major milestone this weekend as the Horningsham Village Fayre celebrates its 40th anniversary.
Taking place on Sunday, June 7th, from 12pm to 4pm at the grounds of Horningsham Village Hall, the organisers have pulled out all the stops, delivering a quintessential British country fayre experience that is free for all to attend.
The landmark event will be officially opened at 12.15pm by Jack Jones, the Mayor-Elect for Warminster, kicking off a jam-packed main arena schedule.
Visitors can look forward to aerial displays from Pitcombe Falconry, high-energy agility during a Canine Pawkour Demonstration by Charismatic Pets, and a performance by the children of Horningsham Primary School.
A central highlight of the 40th-anniversary celebrations will be the highly anticipated Charismatic Pets Fun Dog Show. Dog owners can register their furry friends on-site starting at 12 noon to compete for coveted rosettes across several categories, including Best Puppy, Best Rescue, and Best Veteran.
Beyond the main arena, the showground will host:
- The Classic Car Show: A display of vintage engines and polished chrome for automotive enthusiasts.
- The Village Bar & Beer Tent: Serving up refreshing pints and local favourites.
- Artisans & Craft Stalls: Packed with handmade crafts, local eats and an array of celebration cakes.
- Traditional Sports: Old-school family fun featuring classic egg-and-spoon and three-legged races.
The day will culminate in the heavy-metal excitement of the Tractor Pull winners announcement and the drawing of the Grand Raffle at 4pm.
“We’ve been keeping our 40th-anniversary plans under wraps for months, but we are thrilled to finally share what we have in store,” said the Horningsham Village Fayre Committee. “For 40 years, this fayre has been the beating heart of our community’s summer. Whether you are coming for the classic cars, a pint of local ale, or to enter your dog in the show, we’ve made sure our anniversary year offers a truly grand day out for the whole family.”
