Thousands of visitors descended on Longleat recently for its annual Icons of the Sky event, featuring air displays, parachutes, balloons and more.
The weather disrupted the full planned schedule, but visitors still enjoyed basket and balloon glows, pyrotechnic planes, a Spitfire, a gyro air display and the RAF Falcons, the world’s premier military parachute display team, from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th September.
A break in the weather on the Sunday allowed a mass launch to take place, with tethered displays, baskets and balloon glows on the other days.
“The air display was absolutely stunning, and we were delighted to welcome such a range of different planes to the skies above Longleat,” said Scott Ashman, Head of Operations.
“There were lots of happy faces around and people enjoyed having photographs taken in balloon baskets, listening to Jamma de Samba band and playing on colourful inflatables, as well as discovering the many animals that call Longleat home.”
